Nate San Nicolas

MS, CSCS, PNL1

Nate San Nicolas has spent the last 10 years studying and living in the gym. With a BSc in Exercise Science (Pre-Med) from The George Washington University and a MS in Biomedical Diagnostics from Arizona State University, Coach Nate definitely doesn’t hide the fact he is a nerd at heart. However, on a day he wasn’t being so smart, Nate sprained his SI joint trying to deadlift, something not even heavy. That led him into Custom Fitness, LLC, where he started to fall in love with rehab and strength & conditioning.

With seven years of experience in coaching high school football, track and field, cross country, and volleyball athletes, Coach Nate has definitely demonstrated thought and care when executing programs that emphasize long-term athletic development for youth athletes. In addition, he is the current strength and conditioning coach for the Guam Men’s National Volleyball Team.

“Working with student athletes and now adults has taught me a lot in the field of coaching. I’ve been blessed with great mentors along the way, who have been big influences during my athletic and coaching careers. Whether you’re trying to come back from injury or just trying to get off the couch, I want you to enjoy your time in the gym and become happier and healthier doing so.”

Some notable athletic experiences include completing Ironman Tulsa (13:40), being a member of the Guam Men’s National Volleyball Team in the 2015 Pacific Games and the GWU Men’s Club Volleyball team, where they were placed second in the Div I-AAA Gold Bracket at the 2016 and 2017 NCVF Volleyball Championships. His max bench is under 200-lbs though, so don’t ask him for any bench programs, yet…
